Ananya Zutshi (MS/MBA 2021) wanted a career in pharmacology biotech, but wasn’t sure if she wanted to be on the management side or scientific side. She studied biomedical engineering as an undergraduate at Duke University, where she participated in genetic and tissue engineering research. Zutshi originally planned to pursue a Ph.D., but instead spent four years at Catalent Pharma Solutions, a leading pharma/biotech contract manufacturing development organization. From venture investing at Johnson & Johnson's JJDC to AI and Data Strategy at Moderna, and even philanthropic efforts in Alzheimer's research within Bill Gates' private investment office, my classmates and I didn't just scatter across the biotech industry—we purposefully immersed ourselves in its diverse opportunities. In my second year of undergrad at Tulane University, I started thinking about life after graduation. I had always loved the intersection of science and business and was pursuing a dual degree in both Chemical Engineering and Management.
