We have found that partnering with the HBS Real Estate Club for on-campus information sessions and presentations ahead of first-round interviews has proven both mutually beneficial and successful. Generally led by one of our HBS alum team members, these in-person opportunities allow us to share our recent projects, company history, and a day-to-day look at our firm. It also is a great opportunity for us to network with potential candidates for both intern and full-time opportunities ahead of first-round interviews. In addition, we also launch a recruiting microsite each fall to give MBA recruits a better idea of our company culture, current project mix, and firm history. [...]

Some of our key successes in engaging students at HBS are coffee chats and student club events such as industry education presentations, conferences and brown bag lunches. We also attend the HBS Company Information Day, including the meet and greet. These events, coupled with posting on Career Hub, have provided very valuable touchpoints to students. HBS alumni at CPPIB are also great contributors as they are constantly in touch with current students, alumni and faculty. [...]

Leveraging HBS alumni at Wayfair to help with recruiting efforts has been key to our success. We’re lucky to have quite a few of them, and whether it’s a coffee chat, an info session on campus, or a networking event hosted in our offices, we feel the alumni connection makes engaging with students more impactful. We also like to leverage our Boston location and enjoy having students visit our office so they can meet a wide range of employees - from executives, to recent MBA grads, to people right out of college - and experience our culture up close. A must-have element in our recruiting plan at HBS each year is personal engagement of senior leaders – both HBS alums and even non-HBS alums. Bringing leaders to campus to interact with students or hosting students at our office demonstrates our commitment to hiring fresh talent and also connects students on an intimate level to very senior leaders for informal career path talks and other discussions.
