Harvard Business School is reapplicant friendly. Historically, approximately 10% of the MBA class includes individuals who had previously applied to HBS. The focus of a candidate’s evaluation will always be on the current application, though the Admissions Board is able to access a candidate’s previously submitted materials. We do recognize that a re-application typically reflects change and additional growth since a previous application, so the current application will always be more important to us. Reapplicants are encouraged to provide the Admissions Board with insights into their personal and professional growth since their prior application and any pertinent updates to their candidacy.
Reapplicants do not have an advantage or disadvantage in comparison to other applicants.
All reapplicants, including those who were previously admitted, are required to complete the current application in its entirety. A valid Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) or Graduate Record Examination (GRE) is a prerequisite for admission; the GMAT or GRE test needs to be taken between the timeframes listed in the Application Process instructions. All reapplicants must pay the nonrefundable application fee.
