One of the best parts of the Health Care Initiative’s work is supporting our HBS campus partners in their delivery of high-impact educational programs– including our colleagues at HBS Executive Education. The team is preparing to host a new group of health care leaders for the Managing Health Care Delivery (MHCD) program.
MHCD is led by HCI faculty co-chair, Rob Huckman and is designed to equip health care leaders with the skills needed to enhance patient care quality, improve organizational performance, and achieve financial sustainability despite growing challenges in the industry. It was developed to meet a growing demand for leadership and management training among clinicians and health care administrators.
Over the years we’ve seen firsthand how much impact the program has on health care leaders. What we love most are the stories that come back to us—how the experience sticks with people long after they leave campus.

Take Dr. Neil Jasani, for example. He’s now the Chief Clinical and Academic Officer at ChristianaCare, a regional health system in Delaware. When he came through the program in 2014, Dr. Jasani found it so valuable that he started sending his colleagues, too. These days, ChristianaCare sends a team of leaders every year.

Here’s how Dr. Jasani recently described the program:
“We view the program as an invaluable leadership development opportunity. It equips our healthcare leaders with key skills and gives them a chance to build strong professional networks. It’s both a development investment and a way to foster future leaders in our system.”
What’s especially powerful is how those leaders keep leaning on each other long after the program ends—meeting regularly, sharing ideas, even connecting with peers in other health systems around the world. One of Neil’s cohorts still stays in touch through a WhatsApp group. Neil’s story is one of our favorites. It shows what happens when an organization invests not just in individuals, but in cohorts of leaders who grow together.
For us, that’s the real power of this program—it’s not just about health care delivery, it’s about the relationships that carry forward which enable participants to feel more empowered to lead their health care organizations under increasing complexity. We’re proud to partner with our colleagues in Executive Education in shaping leaders who are driving meaningful change across the health care industry.
📅 Applications for the next program are due October 16, 2025.
