Join us for a networking reception on June 24th from 5:00-7:00pm at Diageo Headquarters in London hosted during London Climate Action Week. This event will bring together Harvard alumni and faculty from across schools, industries, and disciplines to build connections. In addition to fostering meaningful connections among alumni from diverse backgrounds and fields, attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about the Salata Institute’s mission and how it is working to engage and support alumni in advancing impactful climate and sustainability solutions around the world. This event will feature remarks by: Jim Stock, Harold Hitchings Burbank Professor of Political Economy and Vice Provost for Climate and Sustainability, Director of the Salata Institute for Climate and Sustainability; Peter Tufano, Baker Foundation Professor at Harvard Business School and Senior Advisor to the Salata Institute; and HBS Alumni Association of the UK.

The Salata Institute for Climate and Sustainability, HBS’s Business and Environment Initiative and HLS's Environmental & Energy Law Program invite you to join us on April 23rd at the University Club of San Francisco for a panel discussion on how businesses, policymakers, and communities can better prepare for, respond to, and recover from climate-driven disasters. Hosted during San Francisco Climate Week, this event will bring together Harvard alumni experts from across schools and disciplines to discuss interdisciplinary approaches to enhancing resilience and adaptation in the face of extreme weather events such as the recent LA wildfires. Following the discussion, please join us for a networking reception where you can continue the conversation and build connections across industries and disciplines. This event is for Harvard alumni only, space is limited and therefore guests are not permitted.

Jim joined the HBS Faculty in 2019 and teaches the EC courses Entrepreneurial Finance and Tough Tech Ventures and is a faculty affiliate of BEI. He has been working in climate tech entrepreneurship and venture capital for a number of years, and he is an active investor, and Board director & advisor for several companies and VC/PE investment groups including The Engine and Breakthrough Energy Ventures.

Each year, the eight Ivy League schools come together to produce a unique and inspiring career fair that connects public agencies, consulting firms, nonprofit organizations, and businesses with undergraduate, graduate, and PhD level students who have the skills and knowledge to address the complex sustainability challenges of our global economy. The career fair will be taking place on February 28th at Columbia University. This year, the Salata Institute is thrilled to sponsor a Climate and Sustainability Alumni and Student Networking Session at the Harvard Club of New York City following the career fair. The networking session will provide a unique opportunity for Harvard students and alumni to connect, share ideas, and build meaningful professional relationships in climate and sustainability fields. Design for Decarbonization is a first-of-its-kind HBS x GSD lecture that demonstrates how design and business leaders can decarbonize the built environment (i.e., architecture and infrastructure). This lecture will be led by industry practitioner & nonprofit leader Lew Epstein. Epstein will reflect on his career, discuss the growing role that carbon dioxide removal (CDR) will play in our decarbonization toolkit, and share examples of innovations in the CDR space. Food is provided!
