Harvard Business School MBA Class of 2015 Celebrates Class Day
BOSTON—Know yourself and continue to educate and improve yourself throughout your life. Those were the keys to long-term success that entrepreneur extraordinaire Scott Cook (MBA 1976), cofounder and now chairman of the executive committee of Intuit Inc. (think financial software products such as Quicken, QuickBooks, TurboTax, and Mint) gave to the 908 members of the MBA Class of 2015 at Class Day ceremonies held yesterday on sun-drenched Baker Lawn on the School’s campus in Boston. The festivities also included remarks by HBS Student Association co-presidents Linda Li and Nonso Maduka, an address by classmate Adeola Ogunwole, and the presentation of awards to six faculty members. Harvard Business School Celebrates 105th Commencement
BOSTON—Harvard Business School (HBS) held its 105th Commencement exercises this afternoon with a diploma ceremony on its campus in Boston. Following an all-University celebration in Harvard’s Tercentenary Theatre this morning, nine hundred and eight students received their MBA degrees in front of the School’s iconic Baker Library | Bloomberg Center. In addition, nine students were awarded doctorates in business administration (DBA) and sixteen earned PhD degrees offered jointly and in collaboration with the Harvard Faculty of Arts and Sciences in the fields of business economics, health policy, and organizational behavior. One earned a masters of management research, one earned a masters in organizational behavior, and two students were awarded their PhD last March. Read more.

Hannah Merves (MBA 2015) Wins Dean’s Award for Service to Harvard Business School Community and Beyond

Harvard Business School Launches Gender Initiative
BOSTON—In an effort to further the advancement of women leaders worldwide, Harvard Business School (HBS) has launched the Gender Initiative to support research, teaching, and knowledge dissemination that promotes gender equity in business and society. The new Initiative will be headed by Robin Ely, the School’s Diane Doerge Wilson Professor of Business Administration and Senior Associate Dean for Culture and Community. Read more.

HBX, Harvard Business School’s Online Education Initiative, Announces Additional Agreements with Liberal Arts Colleges
BOSTON—HBX, Harvard Business School’s online digital education initiative, has announced that it has entered into agreements to work with several U.S. liberal arts colleges to provide additional benefits for their students taking the Credential of Readiness (CORe) program. CORe is an online program, consisting of approximately 150 hours of learning, for students and early career professionals to learn the fundamentals of business on a highly engaging and interactive platform designed by Harvard Business School faculty. HBS Professor Linda Hill Wins Warren Bennis Prize
BOSTON—Harvard Business Review (HBR) has announced that Linda Hill, the School’s Wallace Brett Donham Professor of Business Administration and faculty chair of its Leadership Initiative, has won, along with coauthors Greg Brandeau, Emily Truelove, and Kent Linebeck, the first Warren Bennis Prize for their article “Collective Genius,” which appeared in the June 2014 issue of the magazine.
