Harvard Business School Celebrates 103rd Commencement
BOSTON—Harvard Business School (HBS) held its 103rd Commencement exercises this afternoon. Following a pomp-and-circumstance-filled, all-University celebration in Harvard’s Tercentenary Theatre this morning, nine hundred and one students received their MBA degrees in front of the School’s iconic Baker Library/Bloomberg Center, while seven were awarded doctorates in business administration (DBA) and eight graduated with PhD degrees offered jointly and in collaboration with the Harvard Faculty of Arts and Sciences (Health Policy, Business Economics and Organizational Behavior). C. Dixon (Dick) Spangler (MBA 1956) Receives Honorary Degree from Harvard University
BOSTON—Extraordinarily accomplished in both the private and public sectors, HBS alumnus Dick Spangler was the recipient of an honorary doctor of laws degree this morning at Harvard University’s 362nd Commencement exercises. In 1988, he received Harvard Business School’s Alumni Achievement Award, the highest recognition the School can bestow. The entire Harvard Business School community extends its congratulations to Mr. Spangler; his wife, Meredith; and their entire family. Four Harvard Business School Students Win Dean’s Award for Service to the School and Society
BOSTON—Four members of the Harvard Business School MBA Class of 2013 have been named winners of the School’s prestigious Dean’s Award. The recipients, who will be recognized by HBS Dean Nitin Nohria at Commencement ceremonies Thursday afternoon on the HBS campus, are Prem Ramaswami, Elizabeth P. (Parker) Woltz, and the team of Galen G. Laserson and Matthew J. Lesniak. Read more.

HBS Announces 2013 HBS Leadership Fellows
BOSTON—After receiving their degrees on Thursday, nineteen members of the Harvard Business School MBA Class of 2013 will begin working in nonprofit and public-sector organizations through the School's Leadership Fellows Program. Now in its twelfth year, the program provides Fellows with a one-year position in a nonprofit or public-sector organization where they can make a significant impact. Since 2001, the program has placed 106 Fellows with 47 organizations. Participating organizations pay Fellows $45,000, and Harvard Business School (HBS) supplements that with a one-year grant of $50,000. Throughout the year, Fellows also benefit from access to HBS resources and return to campus for organized networking and professional development events with other Fellows. Read more.

Harvard Business School Hosts Global Health Competition
Boston—As a founding member of the Business School Alliance for Health Management (BAHM), an organization created to transform the health sector by advancing education, research and practice in the nation’s top schools of management, Harvard Business School hosted this year’s BAHM student competition, Entrepreneurship in Global Health Competition. The Competition, which featured ten teams from business schools across the country, focused on global health organizations or ideas to address an unmet health need, an underserved community, or the development of a novel technology. HBS Holds New Venture Competition Grand Finale
