Two Harvard Business School MBA Students Are Awarded a Paul & Daisy Soros Fellowship for New Americans
BOSTON—The Paul & Daisy Soros Fellowships for New Americans, a graduate school fellowship for outstanding immigrants and children of immigrants in the United States, has announced their 2017 recipients. Two Harvard Business School (HBS) students, Caleb Gayle (a member of the MBA Class of 2019 as a joint degree candidate at HBS and the Harvard Kennedy School) and Peter Hong (MBA 2018) were selected from 1,775 applicants for 30 fellowships and chosen for their potential to make significant contributions to US society, culture, or their academic field. They will receive up to $90,000 in funding for their graduate school education. Read more.

Harvard Business School Holds Topping Off Ceremony for Klarman Hall
BOSTON—Harvard Business School held a topping off ceremony today for Klarman Hall, a new convening center expected to open in 2018 at the southeastern end of campus. The ceremony traditionally marks the halfway point of a building’s construction and is commemorated by signing and raising the highest beam in the building’s framework. Read more.

Harvard Business School Professor Julio Rotemberg Dies at 63
Julio J. Rotemberg, the William Ziegler Professor of Business Administration at Harvard Business School for two decades and a pioneering and influential economist who developed an econometric approach to modeling the macroeconomy, died of cancer on April 2 at his home in Newton, Mass.
