The Secretary of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts is the only authorized body that can issue an Apostille/Certification. In support of this process, diplomas, transcripts, and certificates of attendance can be notarized by MBA Registrar Services before you send them to the Secretary of the Commonwealth.
We can notarize any of the following documents for this purpose:
- Diplomas: Please make an appointment via email to bring your diploma to the Registrar's Office in-person (assigning a proxy to assist is fine). If you are unable to come in-person, you may send us your original, unframed diploma along with a private carrier pre-paid return label and envelope (e.g. UPS, FedEx, DHL) so that we may return the original diploma and the notarized copy.
Requests should be sent via email to registrar@hbs.edu from the alum/student's HBS email/LEFA account for verification purposes. Please provide a mailing address or indicate that you plan to pick the document up in-person. Once you obtain the notarized document, you will need to make separate arrangements with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts' Office of the Secretary, Public Records Division.
Your request must include the following information:
- Full Name and graduation year
- Diploma Name (name recorded on the original diploma)
- Document to be notarized: diploma or diploma copy
- Signature
- Shipping address
- Telephone number
- Contact email address
Diplomas should be sent to:

Please allow up to seven business days for your document to be notarized by MBA Registrar Services. Delivery via Federal Express is available for $15 per address to US/Mexico/Canada and $30 for other countries.
