Centralized vs. Distributed Healthcare Service Models (Virtual)
Zoom
The healthcare landscape in the United States is undergoing rapid transformation. Hospitals and health systems are constantly faced with the challenge of optimizing care delivery—striving to meet patient needs, improve outcomes, and ensure financial sustainability. The tension between centralized and distributed care models lies at the heart of this challenge, and it’s a topic that touches nearly every aspect of hospital operations, from clinical care and infrastructure to workforce management and technology. To set the stage for our discussion, here are a few key questions to consider: -What role should centralized care play in a world increasingly focused on bringing services closer to patients? -How can hospital systems balance the need for highly specialized centralized care with the growing demand for community-based care? -What are the financial and operational trade-offs of these two models, especially in today’s resource-constrained healthcare environment? -As technology like telemedicine and AI continues to evolve, how might these innovations redefine the boundaries between centralized and distributed care? Date/Time Thursday, April 17th 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM ET Speakers Dr. Christopher Sharp, Clinical Professor of Medicine, Stanford University School of Medicine; Chief Medical Information Officer, Stanford Health Care Dr. Kevin Tabb, President and Chief Executive Officer, Beth Israel Lahey Health; Board of Trustees, Beth Israel Lahey Health Moderator, Tina Tianning Yu, Ph.D., MBA 2008, Chief Executive Officer & President, Mevion Medical Systems

The Role of Unpaid Caregivers in America's Evolving Healthcare System
Virtual
Unpaid caregivers are everywhere and don’t always look like we’d expect. Almost 1 in 2 adults in the US are in a caregiver role, and 23% are sandwich generation, caring for someone over 18 and someone under 18 at the same time. Approximately 45% of caregivers are actually men and half of unpaid caregivers don't even identify themselves under the term "caregiver". The reality is that these unpaid caregivers are a critical part of American Healthcare System, and there is massive opportunity for the system to improve the ways they are identified and supported. For this discussion, we'll explore a number of key topics, including: · What is meant by the term "unpaid caregiver"? Who does that include? What are the challenges they face today and how, if at all, is the system providing them support? · What is the role of the unpaid caregiver in transforming care delivery in America - in making the entire system work fundamentally better? · Finally, what opportunities might exist when it comes to improving support for unpaid caregivers? Date/Time Tuesday, May 27th 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM EST Speakers Alexandra Drane, Co-founder and CEO, ARCHANGELS Dr. Pippa Shulman, Chief Strategy Officer and Chief Medical Officer, Medically Home Moderator: Marcus Osborne, MBA 2007, previously CEO, RightMove
