Harvard Business School’s 2016 Class Day Student Speaker Announced
BOSTON—Marcelle de Souza Goncalves Meira (MBA 2016) has been chosen as the student speaker for Harvard Business School’s Class Day celebration, which will be held this year on Wednesday, May 25. A second-year MBA student from Brazil, Marcelle graduated from the Aeronautics Institute of Technology (ITA) in Sao Jose Dos Campos with a degree in aeronautical and mechanical engineering. Before coming to Harvard Business School, she worked as a senior associate for the Boston Consulting Group’s office in Rio De Janiero. Marcelle was the wife of the late Pedro Meira, a second-year HBS student who passed away last September after a heroic battle with cancer. She plans to devote her speech to sharing what she learned from her own experience at HBS, particularly the importance of fully appreciating life. Marcelle was chosen by her peers through an audition process that included more than 50 student speeches. Class Day honors graduating HBS students on the day before the School’s and University’s official Commencement ceremonies. The proceedings are open to graduates, their guests, and the Harvard Business School community. More information is available on the Commencement website. |
