Harvard Business School’s Rock Center Announces 15 Teams for Rock Accelerator Program

New Report: Degree Inflation Hurting Bottom Line of U.S. Firms, Closing Off Economic Opportunity for Millions of Americans
BOSTON—The Bureau of Labor Statistics reports over 12 million Americans are either unemployed or underemployed, while new research finds that 3 in 5 employers report difficulty in filling middle-skills jobs – positions that require more education than a high-school diploma, but less than a four-year college degree. According to new research released today, more than six million middle-skills jobs in the U.S. are now at risk of “degree inflation”—the practice of preferring or requiring a college degree for jobs that were traditionally held by middle-skills workers. BOSTON—Sixteen Harvard Business School current and former faculty members have been named to the top 40 list of bestselling case authors for the 2016-2017 academic year by The Case Centre, an independent, not-for-profit organization based at England’s Cranfield University. The Case Centre is dedicated to promoting the case method in business education and sharing cutting-edge knowledge and expertise in case teaching, writing, and learning -- a pedagogy first applied to management education more than 90 years ago at Harvard Business School. Applications Open for Harvard Business Analytics Program
BOSTON—Harvard Business School (HBS), the Harvard John A. Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences (SEAS) and the Department of Statistics in the Faculty of Arts and Sciences (FAS) are now accepting applications for the new Harvard Business Analytics Program. The first application deadline is February 5th, 2018, and the inaugural cohort will begin classes in March 2018. Read more.

HBX Offers Separate Certificate Programs in Business Analytics, Economics for Managers, Financial Accounting
BOSTON—HBX, Harvard Business School’s digital learning initiative, announces the launch of three new 8-week online certificate programs—Business Analytics, Economics for Managers, and Financial Accounting. The content in these programs has previously been available only as part of HBX’s three-course Credential of Readiness (CORe) program, but participants will now be able to enroll in each course individually.
