Bank of England Deputy Governor Paul Tucker named Senior Fellow at Harvard Kennedy School and Harvard Business School
The Harvard Kennedy School, the Harvard Business School and the Bank of England are today announcing that Paul Tucker, currently Deputy Governor for Financial Stability and member of the Monetary Policy Committee at the Bank of England, has been appointed a Senior Fellow at both the Mossavar-Rahmani Center for Business and Government (M-RCBG) at Harvard Kennedy School (HKS) in Cambridge and at the Harvard Business School (HBS) in Boston, where he will serve as a member of the School’s Finance Unit. Lorna Daniells, Former Head Reference Librarian at Harvard Business School’s Baker Library, Dead at 94
Lorna Daniells, a prominent research librarian who worked at Harvard Business School’s Baker Library from 1946 until her retirement in 1985, died on June 11 in Bloomfield, CT, at the age of 94. During her nearly 40 years at HBS, she served as chair of the Library’s reference department from 1970 to 1974, head of the department from 1974 to 1979, and as bibliographer from 1979 to 1985. Dean Emeritus John H. McArthur Receives High Honor from Canada
BOSTON—Dean and Professor Emeritus John H. McArthur (MBA 1959, DBA 1963), who served as dean of Harvard Business School from 1980 to 1995, has been appointed an officer of the Order of Canada (OC). He is a native of Burnaby, British Columbia, and earned a bachelor of commerce degree in forestry from the University of British Columbia (UBC) in 1957. The announcement was made in Ottawa on June 28 by the Governor General of Canada, the Right Honorable David Johnston. Read more.

Family of the Late Boston Businessman William F. Connell Donates $10 Million to Harvard Business School
BOSTON—The family of the late William F. Connell (MBA 1963), the founding chairman and CEO of the Boston-based Connell Limited Partnership, a group of manufacturing companies doing business principally in the automotive, energy, mining, construction, and agricultural sectors, has donated an additional $10 million to Harvard Business School to establish the Margot and William F. Connell Family MBA Program Innovation Fund. The gift will help support the School’s efforts in curriculum innovation, focusing specifically on the second year of the MBA program. Read more.
