BOSTON — College juniors applying to the Harvard Business School (HBS) 2+2 program can now choose to submit test scores from either the GMAT (Graduate Management Admissions Test®) or the GRE (Graduate Record Examination®). The change strives to make the application process for 2+2, the School's groundbreaking deferred MBA admission program, more accessible to college juniors as they consider their postgraduate options. Launched in 2007, HBS 2+2 gives admitted students a guaranteed spot in a future Harvard Business School MBA class, contingent upon their graduation from college and the successful completion of two years of approved work experience.

The MBA application for the HBS 2+2 Program, including all instructions, policies, and materials, is now available online: https://app.applyyourself.com/?id=hbs.

"The HBS 2+2 program is designed to encourage college students to consider business as a career path. Since the GRE is the test they are most familiar with on the road to graduate school, we are pleased to offer it as an option in addition to the GMAT" said Deirdre Leopold, Managing Director of Admissions and Financial Aid. "These students are at the fortunate point in their lives when they are considering a range of career and education options after graduation, and we want to encourage them to see the versatility and value of a Harvard MBA degree."

Undergraduates are eligible to apply to the HBS 2+2 Program after the conclusion of their junior year. Applications are now available online and due by July 1. Admitted candidates and will be notified of the School's decision in September of their senior year. For more information about HBS 2+2, including the application process and details regarding the required two years of work experience, please visit the 2+2 website.

The GRE General Test measures verbal reasoning, quantitative reasoning, critical thinking, and analytical writing skills that are not related to any specific field of study. It has been a standard admissions test for graduate study for those interested in the arts and sciences for nearly 60 years.

The GMAT is the traditional assessment for candidates for graduate schools of business. It is designed to measure the verbal and quantitative skills as well as proficiency in analytical writing necessary for success in business education.

Only 2+2 applicants can submit either the GRE or GMAT for admissions. All others must submit GMAT scores as part of their application package. For more details on admissions and financial aid, visit the MBA website.
