“At HBS, I'm empowered to embrace new challenges with confidence, knowing that each obstacle is an opportunity to learn and grow.”
Coming to HBS is like...
Embarking on a journey where every day brings new opportunities to learn and grow. The immersive nature of the case method challenges you to think critically, adapt quickly, and form well-informed opinions on all sorts of diverse topics. At HBS, I'm empowered to embrace new challenges with confidence, knowing that each obstacle is an opportunity to learn and grow.
What is your most memorable classroom moment?
My most memorable classroom experience at HBS is definitely Flag Day! It's a vibrant event where students present about their home countries, sharing everything from quirky traditions to attempting traditional dances (with varying degrees of success). The event concludes with the grand reveal of our flags proudly displayed around the classroom. It's a special moment to reflect on and appreciate the diverse global community we have here at HBS.
What is one thing you brought with you to campus, and one thing you’ll be leaving with?
One thing I brought to HBS is my husband's unwavering support. HBS provides a warm community for partners, where they are welcome to sit in on classes, join clubs, and immerse themselves in the section experience. Having him as a permanent cheerleader has also been great, especially when the pressure of academics, recruiting, and social engagements starts to mount!
One thing I'll be taking home with me is a newfound love for exploring different cultures. Thanks to the fantastic opportunities like student-led trips and the FIELD program, I've had the chance to dive into unfamiliar customs, try unique foods, and make connections with people from all walks of life.
How have diverse perspectives in your section contributed to your understanding of business concepts, leadership, and/or problem solving?
Diverse perspectives in my section are like different lenses on a camera – each providing a unique angle on business concepts and problem-solving based on the unique professional and personal experiences of my section mates. Whether it's hearing insights from a former engineer or learning about marketing strategies in a different country, every perspective contributes to a richer understanding of business concepts and helps me expand my own view of the world.
If you could give one piece of advice to prospective students, what would it be?
Be kind to yourself and celebrate every step of the journey! Applying to business school can be an emotional rollercoaster, with ups and downs along the way. Despite your best efforts, setbacks may occur, but remember to stay resilient and persevere. Take time to acknowledge and appreciate the small victories—they all contribute to your progress.
