During their Elective Curriculum (EC)—or second—year, MBA students register for courses based on their interests. With more than 100 offerings in 10 subject areas, these classes provide an opportunity for depth and breadth while helping students gain more concentrated expertise based on their industries and functions. Founded in 1981 as a student club at Harvard Business School, PRIDE is a home for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and questioning MBA students and their partners. Our goal is to make PRIDE a safe space where students and their partners can build their chosen family, create lifelong friendships, and be their authentic selves. We support students the moment they step on campus and continue that support well after graduation. Erik Roberts (MBA 2024) often pauses for quite some time before answering questions. He laughs and says he can be verbose—that he needs a moment because he wants to answer succinctly and thoughtfully. For someone who wants to change hearts and minds, this tracks.
